US Import Duty & HS Code

This page summarizes the current duty rate and tariff classification used for our products shipped to the United States. Our purpose is to educate all our customers about these requirements so that there are no sudden shocks after purchase.

Updated Customs Collection Policy

US Import Duty & Tax Information

Starting June 1, 2026, MyColostrumWorld no longer collects or prepays U.S. import duty, customs charges, courier clearance fees, or local taxes at checkout. If duty/tax is required, it will be requested directly by U.S. customs, DHL Express, FedEx Express, or the courier billing team.

01

No duty collected at checkout

Product prices and order totals exclude prepaid import duty/tax.

02

Pay only if requested

Duty/tax is paid directly to DHL, FedEx, customs, or the courier billing team if requested.

03

Request may come later

In some cases, duty/tax billing may arrive after delivery by email, online invoice, or postal mail.

If your delivery address is in the United States, your order is treated as an international purchase because our products ship from outside the U.S. Import duty, tax, or clearance charges may apply depending on U.S. customs rules and courier processing.

Who is affected

  • Any buyer whose shipping address is in the U.S. and who purchases products shipped internationally.
  • Applies across all platforms: our website, eBay, Amazon, and other marketplaces.
  • Applies whether duty/tax is requested before delivery, at delivery, or after delivery.

Current Policy from June 1, 2026

We no longer collect import duty/tax at checkout

MyColostrumWorld does not collect prepaid U.S. import duty, customs charges, courier clearance fees, or local taxes during checkout. If any duty/tax is required, it must be paid directly to the courier, customs authority, or courier billing team.

Duty/tax is only payable if requested

Not every order will automatically receive a separate duty/tax request from the courier. If no request is issued by customs or the courier, no further payment is needed. If a request is issued, the buyer is responsible for paying it directly to the requesting party.

Recent U.S. Customs & Tariff Update

IEEPA reciprocal tariffs update

Previous U.S. reciprocal tariff estimates were based on IEEPA tariff rates by country of origin. However, the United States Supreme Court ruled on February 20, 2026 that tariffs issued under IEEPA are unlawful.

Based on current courier guidance, IEEPA duties are no longer collected for goods entering the U.S. after 12:00 a.m. EST on February 24, 2026. For this reason, we no longer show fixed IEEPA-based prepaid tax estimates at checkout.

Other duties or tariff programs may still apply

The IEEPA ruling does not automatically remove every possible duty, tariff, customs charge, courier clearance fee, or government-assessed import cost. Other U.S. duty rules may still apply depending on the product, HS code, country of origin, customs entry type, courier billing method, and government guidance at the time of import.

Simple explanation: We removed prepaid duty collection because the final amount is determined by U.S. customs/courier processing at import. If DHL, FedEx, customs, or the courier billing team requests payment, the buyer pays them directly.

How U.S. Import Duty or Tax May Be Assessed

Main factors customs/courier may consider

  • Product value shown on the commercial invoice
  • Country of manufacture / country of origin
  • Product description and intended end use
  • Harmonized System / HTS classification
  • Current U.S. customs rules at the time of entry
  • Courier clearance and disbursement procedures

Our product category / HS guidance

Our colostrum milk powder products are generally declared under HS / HTS 2106.90.9998 for food preparations not elsewhere specified. Final classification and final assessment are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at entry.

Why we no longer show fixed estimated tax amounts

Because U.S. tariff rules and courier collection processes can change, fixed prepaid tax estimates may be inaccurate. We now provide clear duty/tax responsibility information instead of collecting estimated duty at checkout.

When Duty/Tax Payment May Be Requested

Before delivery

The courier may request payment before the shipment is released for final delivery.

At delivery

The courier may request payment around the delivery stage depending on their billing process.

After delivery

In some cases, an invoice or payment notice may arrive after the parcel has already been delivered.

Important: Duty May Be Requested After Delivery

In some cases, DHL Express, FedEx Express, customs, or the courier billing team may complete delivery first and send the import duty, tax, or clearance fee request later by email, online payment notice, phone, SMS, or postal mail.

If you receive an official duty/tax invoice or payment request, please review it carefully and pay it directly to the courier or customs billing channel stated on the notice.

Based on our discussion with courier partners, failure to pay valid duty/tax or clearance charges may cause the consignee name, delivery address, phone number, or shipment record to be recorded or flagged in courier/customs systems. This may lead to future shipment delays, additional checks, payment requests, or delivery issues.

Buyer Responsibility for U.S. Orders

  • All prices shown on our store exclude import duty, customs charges, courier clearance fees, and local taxes.
  • We do not collect these charges at checkout.
  • If requested, the buyer must pay duty/tax directly to DHL Express, FedEx Express, U.S. customs, or the appointed courier billing team.
  • Duty/tax requests may arrive before delivery, at delivery, or after delivery.
  • Failure to pay valid duty/tax requests may cause delay, future delivery issues, return, or disposal depending on courier/customs handling.
  • For more details, please review our Shipping Policy.

How We Assist With Duties — Compliant & Transparent

Our goal is to help customers understand the U.S. import process while staying compliant with customs rules.

What we will do

  • Prepare accurate commercial invoices
We provide product descriptions, declared value, origin, and HS/HTS information based on available product and shipment details.
  • Separate product value and shipping cost when required
For customs transparency, shipment paperwork may show product value and shipping cost separately even if your website order shows free shipping.
  • Coordinate with DHL Express / FedEx Express
We work with our courier partners to provide shipment details and assist if extra customs information is requested.

Why this helps

  • Clearer paperwork helps reduce customs questions.
  • Accurate declarations reduce the risk of detention, reassessment, or penalties.
  • Customers understand that any final duty/tax decision is made by customs/courier processing, not by our checkout system.

What customers should do

  • Use a correct delivery address, phone number, and email address.
  • Monitor DHL/FedEx tracking and courier emails after purchase.
  • Do not ignore official courier/customs invoices or payment requests.
  • Contact us if you are unsure whether a message is genuine.

Note: Final classification, duty/tax amount, and release decision are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the courier, or the appointed customs broker at entry.

Quick FAQ

Do you collect import duty or tax at checkout?

No. Starting June 1, 2026, MyColostrumWorld no longer collects or prepays U.S. import duty, customs charges, courier clearance fees, or local taxes at checkout.

Who collects the duty or tax if required?

If required, the payment request may come directly from DHL Express, FedEx Express, U.S. customs, the customs broker, or the courier billing team.

Can duty/tax be requested after delivery?

Yes. In some cases, the courier may deliver the item first and send an invoice later by email, online payment notice, phone, SMS, or postal mail.

Why did you remove prepaid duty/tax?

Recent U.S. tariff developments and courier guidance make fixed prepaid duty estimates less reliable. We now let customs/courier determine whether a duty/tax payment is required, and the buyer pays directly only if requested.

What if I receive a suspicious payment message?

Please check the sender carefully and compare it with your official DHL/FedEx tracking page. If unsure, contact MyColostrumWorld support before making payment.
